A Welland man is facing charges following an alleged altercation with officers.
Police say that were called to the area of Niagara Street and 6th Street in Welland Sunday afternoon to reports of an impaired driver.
When officers arrived they located a man in the drivers seat of a parked vehicle.
Police say while they were placing him under arrest, he became combative and an altercation ensued during which a taser was deployed.
The suspect, as well as an officer, were transported to hospital with minor injuries where they were treated and released.
39 year old Jason Baldwin of Welland is charged with resist arrest, assault peace officer, disarm peace officer, disobey order of the courts.
Baldwin was released from custody with a future court date in relation to the charges.
