Seniors' programming is getting a big boost in Welland thanks to a pair of grants.
The City of Welland Recreation and Culture Division is receiving two grants through the Elderly Persons Centre funding; the first grant rings in at $42,700 in maintenance and operating funding for the Rose City Seniors Activity Centre, the second grant is for $14,478. Both grants will help offset operational costs and purchase new equipment.
Via a release, Community Recreation Coordinator for the City of Welland, Krista Bowie says, "Our seniors play such a vital role in our community. It's important that we provide the resources necessary to enable them to continue sharing their valuable time, skills, and knowledge in meaningful ways."
