A Welland slaughter house has had its license pulled.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the Safe Food for Canadians license of Cami International Poultry Ltd. once again.
Cami, is a poultry slaughter business in Welland, and this isn't the first time its license has been pulled.
Last October, the plant on Rusholme Rd, had its license pulled for ' humane treatment provisions' during the slaughter process.
It was then reinstated in late November.
The CFIA posted the latest action against Cami this week by announcing its license has once again been pulled.
This time the reason was 'because of a human health risk related to the contamination of meat products, the identification, analysis, prevention, reduction and elimination of the hazards associated with contamination, and non-compliances related to the humane receiving and handling of animals requirements.'
There are no recalls of meat associated with the incidents.
The license suspension will be lifted if the agency determines that corrective measures have been taken.
If corrective action is not taken within 90 days after suspension, the agency may cancel the license.
