Wellspring Niagara continues to chip away at the fundraising goal for the new Niagara Regional Cancer Support Centre.
During the Annual General Meeting, officials announced they have reached 80% of their $5 million Help Us Build Hope campaign goal.
The organization continues to struggle to keep pace with demand as 871 people used the service and over 7,000 people took advantage of programming for those impacted by cancer.
Construction continues on land donated by the Town of Pelham; once completed, the facility will include a new state-of-the-art teaching kitchen and rehabilitation room.
Officials hope to be able to open the doors next year.
Wellspring Niagara offers free social, emotional, psychological, rehabilitative, and information support for those coping with cancer.
