The West Lincoln Memorial Hospital now features a CT scanner.
Representatives for Hamilton Health Sciences and the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital site launched the first ever CT scanner in the site's history yesterday.
Officials had been planning to add the technology since the hospital joined Hamilton Health Sciences in 2014 as demand for scans increased every year.
The machine is expected to be used for more than 7,000 scans per year for inpatients and outpatients alike.
Funding was provided through the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation and the machine was secured through HHS's Managed Equipment Services agreement with Siemens Healthineers. HHS paid for construction of the CT scanner suite.
The hospital's rebuild has entered into the final planning stage and construction is set to begin in late spring 2022.
The CT scanner will be transferred to the new building once construction is complete.
