Don't expect to see a retail cannabis store in West Lincoln anytime soon.
The previous council made it clear they were against having the drug in their community and now the Mayor-elect confirming his position on the issue.
Dave Bylsma telling CKTB's Tim Denis West Lincoln will opt out when the province's deadline comes up in the new year.
"We are community by make up by desire that really wants to avoid the whole cannabis thing, if it flies right over us and lands in other communities well that's their challenge to face, right now I'm very pleased to say West Lincoln is in theory is cannabis free"
West Lincoln Town Councillor Cheryl Gannan who was re-elected in the municipal vote says the past council was adament about keeping cannabis out of the community.
"I"m very much in support of making sure we don't have stores here."
Both Wainfleet and NOTL have both indicated plans to also opt out of hosting a retail cannabis store when the province makes them available in April of 2019.
