Have you seen the new Ontario licence plates yet?
If not, they are dark blue compared to the old white plates with blue lettering.
The old white design, which the government noted are beaded and oversized when compared to the North American standard, has been replaced with a dark navy blue with light blue insets.
The plates will also feature a renewed version of the trillium logo.
In addition to looking different, the government says the new design will actually last longer than its predecessor.
But some police officials are concerned about the new plates and how they appear in the night.
Sgt. Steve Koopman from Kingston Police snapped a pic of a car with the new plates and shared it in a social media post, which has since been shared thousands of times.
Koopman says he took the photo (off duty) in a relatively well lit area with his headlights on.
He questions whether police were consulted before the plates were designed.
He says they are virtually unreadable at night.
Back in April 2018, the Ford government gave the media a version of their new licence plates.
