Eclipse fever today across North America as all of the continent will get at least a partial eclipse of the sun today.

Victoria, B-C will offer Canada's best eclipse view with 90 per cent of the sun blocked out starting at 9:08 a.m. local time.
    
Here in Niagara the afternoon event will see 78 per cent coverage of the sun.
    
The partial eclipse here in Canada will end in Saint John, New Brunswick minutes before 5 p.m.
   
 Various viewing events are planned nationwide

Here in Niagara, members of the Royal Astronomical Society Niagara Centre will have their telescopes set up at Joe McCaffery Park on Vansickle Road from 1:00 to 4:00.

Members of the public are invited to come out for the free event.

The RASC says special viewing glasses are available for a small donation to the local chapter.

The Niagara Parks Commission will be hosting a solar eclipse viewing event this afternoon between 1:00 and 3:00.

The viewing, at the Niagara Glen Nature Centre, includes guided viewing tours with special protective glasses, as well as crafts for kids and light refreshments.
