More anti-racism protest are expected to take place across Ontario today.
A third rally is planned for Toronto, with other protests planned for Barrie, Kingston, Ottawa and Niagara Falls.
The Whirlpool Bridge in Niagara Falls will be closed to all traffic, both U-S and Canadian bound beginning at 11 a.m today.
The move is being made by the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission as Canadian demonstrators plan to kneel along the sidewalk south of the bridge, facing the United States, in a show of solidarity with US citizens protesting discrimination.
The planned protest is meant to be a peaceful display of support of ongoing social justice reform.
The Bridge Commission says that any NEXUS travelers who typically use the Whirlpool Bridge should plan on using the Rainbow or Queenston-Lewiston Bridge.
In compliance with all emergency COVID-19 orders, the border entry points remain accessible only to essential travelers.
When the bridge reopens after the closure, it will still only be open to essential travelers with NEXUS.
Public health officials are urging those participating to wear masks and practice physical distancing.
