The NRP's Marine Unit called into action after police received a call Wednesday afternoon, about two people, one a kite boarder the other a wind surfer in trouble on Lake Erie near Long Beach.
The concerned resident told police the two had been floating in the water for a long time and they were concerned because of the strong winds and approaching storm conditions.
Police and the Marine Unit arrived on scene just before 5:00.
The kite boarder made it to shore without help but police had to tow the wind surfer to shore.
Neither required medical attention
Police would like to remind the public to be aware of the changing weather conditions and to have the proper equipment while in the water.
