Environment Canada says we could see winds gusting up to 90 km/h or more, in the wake of the warm front early this morning.
The winds will continue for a few hours before shifting to the northwest and easing late this afternoon.
The weather office warns there is also the possibility of a ban of scattered showers and thunderstorms
With high winds and more rain in the forecast, the Ministry of Natural Resources is warning we could see higher than average water levels on Lake Erie from Haldimand County to Fort Erie.
The Ministry expects the water levels to increase by 50 cm.
It also warns significant wave heights of 1.5 metres or 5 feet are possible.
Residents along Lake Erie are advised to close storm shutters and stay away from the shoreline.
