One person has died after a house explosion in Kitchener.
Police were called to Sprucedale Crescent around 9 a.m. this morning as neighbouring houses began to catch fire. Witnesses say bits of debris from the explosion littered the street while smoke blanketed the street.
Officials say one woman died and a man was airlifted to hospital.
Waterloo Regional Police Deputy Chief Kevin Chalk says they are treating the incident as suspicious.
"When you have a house explosion like this obviously it causes concern. There could be a number of reasons for it - some of them would be criminal, some of them would not be. All options are open at this point until we can get into the residents and do that examination."
