On a recent British Airways flight from Vancouver to London, Heather Szilagyi says she and her family noticed bedbugs crawling out of the seat in front of them, and they landed to discover they had been bitten many times.
She says they were "grossed out" by the experience but could only get a promise from British Airways customer service agents that it wouldn't happen again.
Szilagyi took to Twitter to share photos of her daughter's bites after she said she was dissatisfied with British Airways' response.
The airline says it has been in touch with her to apologize and will investigate further.
British Airways says the presence of bedbugs is an issue faced occasionally by hotels and airlines all over the world.
