Unifor members are huddling under umbrellas outside the General Motors headquarters in Oshawa as they demand that GM change its stance on the plant's future.
GM has said they plan to shutter the Oshawa Assembly Plant by the end of the year.
Workers have posted signs saying 'Oshawa made GM' and 'Loyalty works both ways.'
Unifor National President Jerry Dias is expected to arrive later today for a conference at 2:15 p.m. this afternoon.
Around 3,000 jobs will be directly impacted if the plant closes, along with the spill over to other businesses in Oshawa that support the workers who live there.
GM remains firm on their decision to close the plant, however officials have said they will continue to support the engine and transmission factory in St. Catharines and the assembly plant in Ingersoll.
