Premier Kathleen Wynne says this is a critical time for North American trade relationships.
Wynne commented yesterday after attending the National Governors Association summer meeting in Rhode Island.
She said she had productive meetings with the governors of Colorado, Oklahoma, Iowa, Nevada, Kentucky, and the Mexican state of Queretaro.
She noted they discussed several issues of mutual concern, including collaboration on trade and business growth in light of the upcoming renegotiation of NAFTA.
Wynne stressed that the U-S and Mexico are two of Ontario's top trading partners and free trade, along with open borders, are key to North America's economic well-being.
