After almost decimating Ontario’s horse racing industry just a few years ago, there is now word the Wynne government is moving to save it permanently.
Jim Thibert, with the Fort Erie Live Racing consortium confirms there is a plan in place to provide the industry with enough money to survive over the next two decades.
Thibert says that 20 year vote of confidence will include $1.6 billion in subsidies.
The plan still needs the approval of the legislature.
