The Ontario government is hoping to hear from the public on their new strategy to tackle the issue of housing in the province.
Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Steve Clark spoke to the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce yesterday while announcing the launch of public consultations on the Ford government's plan dubbed 'More Homes, More Choice.'
The province's proposal claims to cut 'red tape' in terms of land use policies with some of the changes including prioritizing intensification along transit corridors and requiring municipalities to fast-track development applications for housing.
A release from the Ontario government is quick to note any proposed changes would maintain protections for the Greenbelt and support the agricultural sector.
