Ontario’s top doctor is warning young people who may be getting casual about protecting themselves from COVID-19 that he’s getting reports of patients returning with prolonged health issues.
Dr. David Williams noting yesterday, Ontario is seeing a spike in cases among the 20 to 39 age group.
The 20 to 39 age category accounts for 9,758 cases of COVID-19 in the province, which is the second highest behind the 40 to 59 age group.
Williams says he has received anecdotal reports from physicians and medical groups in Ontario that patients in the 20-39 age group, who only had mild COVID-19 symptoms, are returning to the doctor after recovering with prolonged "effects and issues."
He did not go into specifics but he warns young people not to be too casual about getting infected because it's a new disease and we still have a lot to learn.
