A new study out of McMaster University has found while the soaring cost of electricity in the province is a big concern for Ontario's auto makers, it hasn't put us at a competitive disadvantage just yet.
The study found while hydro rates are higher in Ontario than they are in the 10 largest auto producing states, the difference is marginal.
For example, the cost of electricity in Ontario is only$6.00 more per vehicle, than it is in Michigan.
The authors of the report say put in the context of a $30,000 car, the difference is not enough to impact Ontario's competitiveness when it comes to the auto sector.
