The City of Niagara Falls is offering some relief for the extreme heat expected in Niagara today and tomorrow.
Two indoor cooling centres, one at the Niagara Falls Public Library on Victoria the other at the Gale Centre on Thorold Stone Road will open from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Washrooms will be available and water on site.
The City is following provincial guidelines and direction from public health to help protect against the spread of COVID-19 at the cooling centres.
They're asking attendees to wear a mask, and measures will be in place at the site to reinforce safe physical distancing.
The City's seven splash pads and five swimming pools will open for the season on July 1st, pending Provincial authorization to proceed with opening.
