More controversy for the embattled NPCA.
Niagara this week reporting the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority board voting behind closed doors at their April 26th board meeting to censure one of its members, Lincoln Regional Councillor Bill Hodgson.
The move has never been done in the 58 year history of the Conservation Authority.
Hodgson is being blamed for tainting the process the NPCA was using to hire a third party auditor to examine past business practices.
When the board voted to pass their in camera report which included Hodgson’s censuring the vote passed seven to five.
Those who voted in favour of censuring the long time Lincoln politician were Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati, Port Colborne Mayor John Maloney, West Lincoln Mayor Doug Joyner, and regional councillors Bruce Timms of St. Catharines, Brian Baty of Pelham and NPCA board chair Sandy Annunziata and Rob Shirton.
Those voting against the move were Welland Mayor Frank Campion, Wainfleet Mayor April Jeffs, and NOTL Lord Mayor Pat Darte, and Dominic DiFruscio
