QEW now open after deadly crash involving excavator kills 46 yr old

The OPP have reopened the QEW after a deadly crash early this morning.

Officials say a 46 year old driver from Toronto was killed in the crash, but his name has not been released.

The driver was killed after someone using an excavator in a construction zone on the Toronto bound QEW at Nikola Tesla Boulevard hit an overhead road sign, causing the sign to collapse and hit a passing vehicle.

The investigation continues.
