An early morning robbery at the Big Bee Variety store on Lake Street in St. Catharines has police looking for a suspect.
Niagara Regional Police say the incident took place around 3:17 a.m. this morning when a lone male suspect believed to be armed with a weapon entered the store and confronted the store clerk.
The suspect demanded money and merchandise and fled the scene.
The clerk did not receive any injuries as a result of this incident and no weapon was actually observed.
The suspect was described as a white male, 5'8" to 5'10" with a stocky build wearing a dark coloured hoodie with writing on the front and possibly wearing shorts.
He was last seen running south on Lake Street from the variety store.
Investigators from the 1 District Detective Office are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Niagara Regional Police Service at 905-688-4111 ext. 4286.
